City of Albany
Camping is BACK!
Campgrounds within national parks, reserves and State forest are open for camping.
This includes camping in huts along the Bibbulmun Track and Munda Biddi trail. However, as intrastate travel restrictions remain in place people will only be able to camp within their regional boundaries.
Some attractions are re-opening from Monday 18 May. National parks remain open to the community to ensure that people in their local area can exercise and get some fresh air to support their wellbeing. There are some important things to know if you are intending to pitch a tent in the near future.
Campground Bookings Online bookings will be available for stays of up to 28 days at a time and can be made 28 days ahead of arrival. Bookings can be made via DBCA's online campground booking system:
parks.dbca.wa.gov.au/park-stay
Non bookable campgrounds will continue to operate on a first-come, first-served basis.
Facilities and services at campgrounds
The four square meters of space per person rule needs to be adhered to at all times, particularly around shared facilities such as ablutions/camp kitchens and other communal areas.
Campers should ensure they can maintain good personal hygiene while camping by carrying their own handwashing materials.
