Get the help you need, when you need it

Having a mental health issue is very normal. All sorts of life events can trigger anxiety and depression, and 2020 has thrown us more curve balls than usual!

Seeking professional help early will get you on the road to recovery quicker. Luckily there are lots of different ways you can get support.

Where to start

Your doctor (GP) is often a good place to start for most mental health issues. They can make a diagnosis, provide treatment or refer you to other services if needed.

If you can’t access a GP straight away, or don’t feel comfortable talking to them, there are other options available.

Phone & online support (free & confidential)

Some people prefer phone or online support as they can access it when it suits them, i.e. after work, late at night, when kids are asleep and on weekends. It can also help if you can't easily get to regular treatment sessions because of time or distance.

Other people prefer the anonymous nature of phone and online support and find it less confronting than speaking face-to-face with a counsellor or psychologist.
