Healthy Self-Iso Home Cooking

In this period of self isolation and quarantine, many of us are cooking and eating the majority of our meals at home. This is a time to start or rekindle your love affair with preparing food. Cooking can be rewarding, relaxing and of course, delicious.

We can support our immune system by eating a healthy diet and maintaining a healthy microbiome. A diet that includes a variety of fresh fruit and vegetables, lean proteins (animal and plant based) and whole grains is both nourishing and gut bacteria boosting.

Navigating through the huge amount of healthy recipes available online can be exhausting and often, unproductive. Cook books and magazines provide a curated collection of ideas and leave the reader entertained, and educated.

The Albany Public Library holds a collection of healthy recipe books, digital magazines and eBooks. The building is currently closed but there are a number of ways you can satisfy your literary needs: click and collect, home delivery service and online resource access. Contact us via email, telephone or live chat on our website for further information.
